Junior Secondary School

Junior Secondary School

Junior Secondary provides for the changing needs of students in their formative years. With a dedicated team of teachers who specialise in adolescent education, students learn in a unique environment that supports their developing needs and allows them to grow in independence and self-confidence.

In Years 7–10 the Australian Curriculum supports the deepening of knowledge, understanding and skills in all eight learning areas. The curriculum continues to prepare students for civic, social and economic participation and personal health and well-being whilst providing increased opportunities for students to make choices and specialise in learning of particular interest. The curriculum is designed to equip students for senior secondary schooling, including vocational pathways.

We know that adolescence is a delicate stage that demands guidance from adept and compassionate teachers. Through the curriculum, these skilled educators challenge students to start making decisions about their own learning.

Junior Secondary School core difference

Junior Secondary at AIS Dubai allows students to grow in independence and self-confidence. It provides a safety net for risk-taking, decision making and the establishment of a sense of personal identity. Dedicated and enthusiastic teachers in the Junior Secondary share a deep and genuine care for their students as individuals. They are committed professionals who see beyond limitations and focus instead on possibilities. They facilitate learning that taps into passion, interest and potential.

Core teachers, one class

Core learning is delivered by a team of teachers in the Junior Secondary. These core teachers cover the areas of English, Maths, Science, History and Geography. This teaming is a key point of difference at AIS Dubai. It provides structure to support essential aspects of middle school education as well as a positive psychological environment that allows flexibility, variety and diverse grouping of students. It also provides a structure to plan and deliver a curriculum that balances academic and social factors.
